Crescentia Volz
Crescentia was born in San Mateo, California, but soon moved to Washington State where she spent her childhood. Crescentia loved to dance and completed 5 years of tap/ballet/jazz classes at Dancing for Joy (Joy Ozier). Her interest in costumes was encouraged by her mother (Beverly Gorman), who made costumes for the recitals. When her parents divorced she moved with her mother and sisters to the Imperial Valley in California, then to Redlands, California through her middle school years. Crescentia graduated high school in Clintonville, WI, where she received an academic letter and numerous medals for her accomplishments on the school forensics (speech & drama) team.
After graduation, Crescentia attended Mt. Mary College in Milwaukee, WI where she studied fashion design. She later accepted an internship at Contemporary Designs (Jacqueline Marusic) in Tacoma, WA where she learned more about garment construction and millinery. After her internship, Crescentia relocated to Dubuque, IA. In 2007 Crescentia graduated from Madison Media Institute (Madison, WI) with a degree in Video and Motion Graphics, and then moved briefly to the East Coast to York, PA. After returning to Dubuque Crescentia got involved in the Great River Film Initiative, a group that encourages and supports local film making. She has participated in the production of many short films and projects, and the feature film, Easton's Article (2010).
In 2011 Crescentia had a lead role in the stage production of Recent Tragic Events where she played Joyce/Nancy. She also has contributed many hours of design, decorating, and acting to the haunted attraction Dark Chambers in Dubuque. Also in 2011 Crescentia officially opened Gotta Give 'Em Props, a prop rental house, to serve film and stage productions in Dubuque.
